Blue Willow Brigade 2008 Fundraiser
From The Saddle Horse Report:
The Blue Willow Farm Youth Club of Versailles, KY, will be hosting a silent auction at the 2008 Lexington Jr. League Horse Show. They are compiling a collection of Mo- Neighs, paintings done by horses, to raise money for the ASHA Youth to Youth Scholarship Program.
The Mo-Neigh concept is very simple and so much fun! They put a long paintbrush into a carrot, dip the brush in paint, give the horse its “treat” and let the horse paint on a piece of paper. Only starting in September of 2007, the Blue Willow Brigade has collected a total of 26 Mo-Neighs and is looking for even more equine “artists.” Some of the “artists” include, CH Walterway’s Remember Me, Swish, A Travelin’ Man, CH Eleanor Rigby, CH Ninety-Eight Degrees, CH Moses, Bono, CH War Whoop Two, CH The Bodega Bay, CH Heir Style, and Twice Charmed.
The Blue Willow Brigade would like to thank the barns that have already participated:
Blue Willow Farm: Julie Kaufman and Joe Elam
Carriage Lane Farm: John and Tammie Conatser
Double D Ranch: Dena Lopez
Grey Ridge Farm: Bret and Susi Day
Lenore Farm: John and Dorothy Lenore
Shadow Run: Bill and Nancy Becker
Sunrise Stables: Melissa Moore
Willowbank: Joan Lurie
If you are willing to let one (or more!) of your horses participate, please contact Andrea Steponaitis at AmSdlbrd512@aol.com or (859) 509-8746. The Brigade will be collecting Mo-Neighs at Reiser Stables on March 15th. If you are with a barn in the area and would like to participate, just let them know! The youth club is willing to make the drive to where you are within reason. If you are out of the state of Kentucky and want to participate, they can send you supplies!
Blue Willow Finds Success in Atlanta

At the Southeastern Classic, Blue Willow Farm enjoyed the sights, sounds, and scenes of one of the Southeast's favorite horse shows - not to mention all of the blue ribbons that they picked up. Ann Fitzpatrick found herself in a familiar position, behind World's Champion of Champions Buckwheat as he put on a show for the crowd.
"We asked him to show a little faster for us" said trainer Joe Elam, "and he really stepped up".
Apparently the judges thought so too, as Buckwheat and Ann won both of their classes.
Wheat and Ann, however, weren't the only members of Blue Willow's line-up who found the winner's circle in Atlanta.
The entire barn had a great show, and we will have much more for you on Blue Willows experience in Georgia coming soon.
