Julie Kaufman
Julie Kaufman grew up riding and showing in south Georgia with Jimmy Gidewell, and Marvin Long and Amy Kutrufis of Sea Island Stables.
Julie attended Stephens College where she rode with Ellen Beard, and graduated with a degree in
Equestrian Science. After graduation, Julie worked for Raymond and Lillian Shively, Steve and Julia
Joyce, and Royal Scot Stables.
Since 2006, she has been at the current location, teaching beginner through advanced riding and
driving lessons; training horses and ponies in all divisions; standing a breeding stallion; and
breeding and foaling out mares.
She takes pride in having a business that "does it all"... and does it well.

Nelson Green has been a professional horse trainer for over
40 years. He has directed top show strings to virtually every
honor in the Saddle Horse World, while making and marketing
horses from the ground up; from the pasture into the winner’s
circle.
Nelson’s gift of loving and understanding horses, coupled with
his work ethnic, natural eye for horses, and the meticulous respect
for detail that is his hallmark, have brought him to the top of
his profession.
Green trained entries have won in excess of 100 World Championship
classes (5 Gaited, 3 Gaited, Fine Harness, Park, Pleasure, Roadster,
Hackney, In-Hand, & Equitation) in the Open, Amateur, Ladies,
and Juvenile divisions. Additionally, he is a USEF judge and has
officiated at all of the country’s major shows and in South Africa
and Canada.
Nelson contributes to his sport as a Board of Director of the ASHA,
and memberships on the USEF Saddlebred Committee and Ky.
State Fair Advisory Board, and was a founding member of the
UPHA.
He has owned and operated Nelson Green Stables, where he has
maintained a 21 stall barn, usually with a variety of show horses
and developing colts, since 1988.

1995- First to win 3 Year Old 5 Gaited, 3 Gaited, Fine Harness
World Championships in the same year. (Peppermint Sonburst,
With Authority, A Sweet Treat)
2001 Show Season- 110 trips to the show ring resulted in 75 Firsts,
11 Seconds, and 13 Thirds.
2002- On World Championship Monday evening his amateurs won
the 5 Gaited, 3 Gaited and Fine Harness classes, followed the next
afternoon with wins by his amateurs in the Park and Roadster events.

2003- Catch rode I’m First to a win in the 5 Gaited National Futurity,
in his street clothes, after his assistant was injured in the warm up ring.
